After traveling to Europe with ETBD
in 2000, 2001 and 2002, we suffered some
pretty major ETBD withdrawal after not being able to travel in 2003.
We anxiously waited for Rick’s 2004 schedule to come out and as
soon as we saw there was a trip that included Pompeii and Sicily,
we knew immediately that “this was the one”!!! We’d lived in
Boston for 31 years and had fallen in love with the Italian North End,
the culture, and the food and wine. It was time for our "Italian
Fix". What we found exceeded our wildest
images ... history of the roots of our civilization, scenery that
took our breath away, art by the great masters, music, living geology,
wonderful shops, great people, and ohhhh! the food and wine.
We
want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to
L. G. who took the time, during the tour, to merge the digital
photos of all the tour members into one CD. Thank you
also to the contributors to LG's CD for the wonderful photos and
their permission to use them in this site. Many are used and, we think,
add much to the following pages.
