Viking Dreams

Touring Scandinavia May 21 - June 7, 2002

 Norway

Day 17 (Thursday, June 6th) continued ... the final supper.
And now, the tour was almost over.  While dreams keep us going, nothing beats living one!  Our resident maestro, John Mackay, composed a song expressing it all.  It reminds us what is important; great people, great food, wonderful places and lots of planning.

Our farewell to Sonja and Lisa

By John Mackay

Sung to "Let Me Call You Sweetheart"

Sonja, you're my Swede-heart,

We're in love with you.

Lisa's partly Finnish,

and we love her too!

Buddies all together, and

Jean makes the Heidebloom.

Lutefisk is coming, that's the only gloom.

Smorgasbord for breakfast?

Pickles, ham and cheese

Herring - and more herring?

Pass the toast and cornflakes, please?

Suppers like ostrich, or reindeer or salmon too

Great beer and wine, it's all sublime

Though our belts got tight, it's true!

Denmark was delectable,

And Sweden simply swell

The Silja sail to Finland

Was closer to heaven than to hell.

Sunny Scandinavia, it just keeps getting better

How nice to see it through your eyes!!!

And thanks for gorgeous weather.

And now we're on to Norway

Saved the best part for the last

We good companions roll along

Making friendships that will last

Sonja and Lisa, our super guides

You both have been true blue

We'll miss you two, but never fear

Hope next tour we'll see you!!

Takk!!
