Our one stop in Brittany, Fougères, featuring one of
Europe's largest medieval castles. Grim walls, nice flags and flowers.
Great food!

Château
Chenonceau, to our mind the best château we visited. Built over the
Cher River it has an intriguing history ranging from Henry II's mistress to
WWII. The water level is about six feet higher than normal (and
it had been higher). Amazing that it has survived all these years ... and in such
great shape.
